This beautiful aromatic ground spice provides a flavour which blends together the tastes and aromas of cinnamon and pepper. While quite similar to nutmeg, it is a little more pungent. 

Mace is the outside covering which surrounds the whole nutmeg kernel itself and is a wonderful addition to a range of delicious meals such as baked goods including, cakes, puddings, custards, and tarts. It is also added to soufflés, sauces, soups and even yummy meat dishes such as lamb, chicken and fish. It adds tremendous complimenting flavours and can even be paired with cheese or chocolates!

Traditionally mace was reputed to offer antioxidant properties and benefits for digestive health and may help with inflammation. It can also be added to coffee or tea.
