PREMIUM WILD HARVESTED MEADOWSWEET HERB - NEW STOCK
Meadowsweet was historically used to flavour mead, hence the name. Nowadays it is commonly used in herbal blends or used on its own in tea.
Also called 'Queen of the Meadow', it was one of the three herbs held to be most sacred by the Celtic druids. It also has a long history of medicinal use and is even mentioned in some of the literary works of the middle ages.
Traditionally health benefits attributed to the herb were for pain relief due to a rich content of salicylic acid, as a digestive aid and for its anti-inflammatory, immune support and astringent properties.
Some experts have also suggested using meadowsweet as a natural insect repellent and disinfectant.
