Dried Sloe Berries (also called Blackthorn) are used in herbal remedies as well as in cooking ingredients when making items including jam and jelly and as a distillery ingredient for making gin. They're traditionally known for their antiseptic, diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties and are reputed to aid digestion. They should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
